At-Large Academic Teams

Westfield State junior Alicia Gardner (Athol) and junior Rachel Dionne (Feeding Hills/Agawam HS) have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I teams.

Gardner was a first-team selection on the Academic All-District I softball squad and is now one of eight finalists for Academic All-America honors. Dionne, a member of the Westfield cross country and lacrosse teams, was a District I at-large second-team selection.

Westfield State junior third baseman Alicia Gardner (Athol) and sophomore center fielder Kerin DeGirolamo was selected to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Team.

Six members of the Westfield State softball team, led by player of the year Alicia Gardner (Athol) and pitcher of the year Madelaine Tomich (Alford), were named to the Massachusetts State College Athletics Conference (MASCAC) all-conference teams in voting conducted by the coaches.
