WESTFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Nicole Brodeur (Claremont, NH) won three events and swam on the meet-clinching 400 freestyle relay to lead Plymouth State to a 149-148 victory over the Westfield State women’s swimming and diving team on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Plymouth, which overcame a 13-point deficit in the final two events, remains unbeaten with a 3-0 record. Westfield drops to 2-3.
Brodeur hit the wall first in the 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle. She also was a member of the victorious 400 freestyle relay that garnered 11 points in the comeback win.
Freshman Jennier Samaro (Salem, NH) also was a big point producer, placing first in the 100 breastroke and 200 individual medley (the next-to-last event) and second in the 1,000 freestyle.
Plymouth senior Caitlyn Little (Scituate, MA) won the 50 butterfly and placed second in the 50 and 100 freestyles.
The Owls had three double winners: Lindsey Malboeuf (50 and 100 backstroke), Jenna Tasse (50 and 100 freestyle), and Longmeadow’s Kim Schmidt (one and three-meter diving).
