Team Grade Point Averages

A total of 211 Westfield State College student-athletes were honored at the annual Director of Athletics Honor Roll 3.0 Reception on Tuesday evening, Feb. 9.

The reception was held in the Woodward Center second floor lounge between the women's and men’s basketball games vs. MCLA. The Owl scholar-athletes completed the 2009 fall semester with cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better.

Westfield president Evan S. Dobelle was the featured speaker and he lauded the student-athletes for their outstanding athletic and academic accomplishments.

The Director of Athletics Honor Roll represents an impressive 47 percent of the 453 student-athletes at Westfield State. In addition, 55 percent of the student-athletes (243 of 453) earned a 3.0 or better 2009 fall semester grade point average.

“We are very proud of all our student-athletes; the way they perform on the playing fields and in the classroom,” said Westfield State athletics director Richard Lenfest. “I would especially like to thank the administration, faculty, staff and coaches for their support and guidance.”
