Todd Ditmar begins his sixth season as head coach of the Westfield State women's soccer team. The Owls have reached new heights under Ditmar's direction as they participated in the NCAA Tournament and won the MASCAC regular season and postseason tournament championships the past two years.
In 2008 Ditmar led the Owls to a 15-5 record and their first NCAA Division III tournament berth, followed by a 16-2-2 record in 2009 that included schools records for victories in a season and consecutive games without a loss (18).
Ditmar has posted a five-year record of 47-38-5 at Westfield, including a 31-7-2 mark the past two years.
Prior to Westfield, he was the head women’s coach at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Mass., for 12 years (1993-2004), posting a record of 114-86-7. His overall record is 161-124-12 in 17 years of coaching women's soccer on the collegiate level.
During his tenure, Bay Path won North Atlantic Conference championships in 1998, 2002 and 2004. His 2004 team posted a 23-1 record and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Ditmar, who resides in Longmeadow and graduated from Longmeadow High School in 1985, is the son of former Major League pitcher Art Ditmar of Pittsfield, Mass. He is a graduate of UMass-Amherst.
