13th Annual Owl Club Golf Tournament

Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Ranch Golf Club, Southwick, Mass.

2019 GUEST OF HONOR - TODD DITMAR

Todd Ditmar

Now in his 15th season at Westfield State, women’s soccer coach Todd Ditmar has transformed the Owls’ women’s soccer team into a perennial contender for the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic conference title, and a regional powerhouse which has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two seasons, and seven times in the last 11 years.

From the start, Ditmar has been strong supporter of the Owl Club Golf tournament, annually bringing groups to the tournament, and his team was the Owl Club Tournament champion in 2007. His teams have regularly participated as on-course volunteers during the tournament.

Among the Owls’ many stellar seasons under Ditmar’s guidance, the 2012 club posted an unbeaten regular season before falling in the NCAA Tournament and finishing with an 18-1-1 mark to set several school records.

The 2011 team was the first to advance in the national tournament, winning a penalty kick shootout against host Stevens Institute of Technology. The 2015 team fell to eventual national champion Williams College in the NCAAs.

From a family with a strong athletic tradition, Ditmar is the son of former New York Yankees pitcher Art Ditmar, and his nephew Kyle Murphy ’17 was an outfielder for the Owls’ baseball team.

A full-time staff member at Westfield, he also manages the University’s club sports programs. Ditmar has posted a coaching record of 140-86-22 at Westfield and has a career collegiate record of 254-172-29 in 27 seasons at Bay Path and Westfield.

COURSE INFORMATION

The Ranch has consistently been named among the best courses in the state since opening in 2002, and was hailed by Golf Digest as one of the "Best New Courses in America." This golf course was created on a wonderful historic piece of land. It's a mixture of open meadows and woodland, interspersed with beautiful creeks and a dash of wetlands tossed in to make each hole exciting and memorable. To successfully negotiate your way around The Ranch Golf Club you'll have to analyze each shot and carefully consider your options. There are many opportunities to take risks that will be richly rewarded if properly executed. The Ranch plays over 7,174 yards from championship tees.
