Kelsey Johnstone (Westfield HS/Southwick, Mass.) and Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) won three events each as Westfield State held off Smith College, 155-144 in a women's swimming and diving dual meet at the Ely Pool on Saturday.

Kelly and Johnstone also paired with Taylor Pierce (William Floyd/ Moriches, N.Y.) and Amber Stearns (Milford, Mass.) to win the meet-opening 200 yard medley relay.

Johnstone touched the wall first in the 50 breaststroke, the 100 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke to help stake the Owls to a lead.

Kelly topped the 50 backstroke, the 200 backstroke and the 200 IM events.

Westfield also got a win from senior diver Monique Groux (Agawam, Mass.) on the 3-meter board, with a score of 179.35.

The Owls will break for Thanksgiving before returning to competition on December 1 with a dual meet at UMass Dartmouth.
