Espinola Set to Participate in 2023 FCBL All-Star Game Tonight in Burlington, VT
Westfield State senior reliever Joe Espinola was selected to play in the 2023 Future’s Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game tonight in Burlington, Vermont
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior reliever Joe Espinola (Plymouth, Mass.) was selected to play in the 2023 Future's Collegiate Baseball League of New England All-Star Game as a representative of the Westfield Starfires with first pitch tonight at 6:35 P.M. from Centennial Field in Burlington, Vermont.
Espinola has put together a dominant season as he leads the Starfires with 15 appearances out of the bullpen, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.95 earned-run average across 24.1 innings pitched. The senior right-hander has yet to issue a walk during the season and has punched out 27 batters over that span as well.
During the 2023 season with the Owls, Espinola served as the primary closer for the team as he led the Owls in appearances (17), saves (four), ERA (2.33), and WHIP (1.27). He also tied the team lead in wins as he registered four out of the bullpen.

The Starfires return home on Saturday to host the Brockton Rox at Bullens Field before playing a neutral site game against the Pittsfield Suns at Forest Park in Springfield, Mass. on Sunday.
