Andrade Receives MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors
Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Andrade has been on a tear with six goals in her last four games, earning conference honors this past week as a result.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Caroline Andrade (Watertown, Mass.) earned conference honors this week, securing the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors for her performance this past week.
Andrade registered five goals and two assists for 12 points in a perfect 3-0 week for the Owls which included a pair of conference wins over Bridgewater State and Salem State.
She tallied two goals and an assist in Westfield's 5-4 win over the Bears then recorded a goal and an assist in a 4-1 non-conference victory versus Western Connecticut. Andrade capped a terrific week with two additional goals in the Owls 9-0 rout over the Vikings on Saturday.
Andrade has now scored in each of her last four games, all since entering the starting lineup. Her six goals on the season are tied for the seventh most in the conference while her 14 points ranks third on an Owls team that is currently on a seven-game winning streak.
The Owls, which are 5-0 in the MASCAC and 9-3 overall, will face a challenging league opponent to complete the first rotation of the conference schedule as Westfield travels to Fitchburg State (4-1 MASCAC) for a MASCAC clash tomorrow at 4:00 P.M.
