Recent Grad JT Thompson Signs To Play Pro Basketball in Casablanca
Thompson was a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team All-Conference selection this season, and led the conference with 65 made three pointers, which included five triples in a 29-point performance in the MASCAC Championship game this season.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Recent Westfield State alumnus JT Thompson (Columbia, S.C. / Dutch Fork HS) has signed to play professional basketball with Raja (RCA) Casablanca in Morocco.
Thompson was the Owls leading scorer as a senior during the 2022-23 season tallying 17.4 points per game.
Thompson was a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team All-Conference selection this season, and led the conference with 65 made three pointers, which included five triples in a 29-point performance in the MASCAC Championship game this season.
The senior guard also played a key role for the Owls during the 2021-22 season, as Thompson piled up the second-most points for Westfield in the conference championship game, scoring 14 points to help guide the Owls to their third title in program history. He then led the Owls with 15 points in their NCAA Tournament first round game against Nazareth.
Thompson tallied 700 points across two seasons with the Owls, burying 117 triples to finish fifth on the all-time three-pointers list in program history, and finishing top ten in school history in three-point percentage at 36%. He scored 1,000 points in his college career, which included stops at Division II Limestone and NAIA Edward Waters before arriving at Westfield.
Thompson said that he will head overseas in September.

RCA Casablanca competes in the Moroccan Basketball league. The team was founded in 1949 and has since become one of the most successful basketball teams in the country, and has won numerous championships over the years.
