Rogers, Jr. Continues to Rack Up MASCAC Weekly Honors
Westfield State first-year forward Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) struck once again this past week as he has earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for the second time and conference Rookie of the Week honors for a fifth consecutive week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) struck once again this past week as he has earned MASCAC Player of the Week honors for the second time and Rookie of the Week honors for a fifth consecutive week.
Rogers, Jr. averaged a double-double this week as he produced 22 points per game with 12.5 rebounds per game in a pair of road wins. Rogers Jr. dropped 25 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists in a 91-74 win over Johnson and Wales on Tuesday. Rogers Jr. followed up that performance with a 19-point, ten-rebound stat line in the Westfield State school record 133-81 win over Vermont-State Lyndon.
Rogers, Jr. is in the lead in points per game in the MASCAC with 19.3 and is also second in rebounding with an average of 8.1 per game. Rogers, Jr. is the sixth most efficient scorer in the conference as he is shooting 49.4 percent from the field.
Rogers, Jr. and the Owls, which have won six of their last seven games, returns to action after the New Year on Friday, January 3 at 3:00 P.M. against John Jay College from the Woodward Center in Westfield, Mass.
