Rogers, Jr. Tallies 11th MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) posted 26 points and 19 rebounds for Westfield State and was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the 11th time this season after the Owls held on to a 99-95 victory against Fitchburg State this past Wednesday.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) posted 26 points and 19 rebounds for Westfield State and was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the 11th time this season after the Owls held on to a 99-95 victory against Fitchburg State this past Wednesday.
Rogers, Jr. was four assists shy of posting a triple-double against conference opponent Fitchburg, adding six assists to what was his 12th double-double of the year. This was Rogers, Jr. 13th time scoring over 20 points as well.
The first-year forward still holds the lead for points per game in the MASCAC as he averages 18.7. Rogers, Jr. averages the second most rebounds in the league, pulling down 9.5 per game. Rogers, Jr. assists on 3.6 buckets per game as that is good for sixth in the conference.
Rogers, Jr. and the Owls will be back in action on Wednesday, February 19 for a 5:30 pm tip-off as Westfield travels to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC rivalry as the Owls look to maintain a share of the top spot in the conference regular season standings.
