Jason James Named MASCAC Player of the Week
James finished a two-win week for the Owls with averages of 18.5 points, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists per game.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore guard Jason James (Ansonia, Conn./Westminster School) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week for the week ending Jan. 11, 2025.
James led the Owls with 22 points in Saturday's win over Worcester State, helping Westfield State to improve to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in the MASCAC, and giving Owls head coach Rich Sutter his 400th career collegiate coaching win. James added four assists and three steals while shooting 7-10 from the floor and 8-9 at the foul line.
James finished a two-win week for the Owls with averages of 18.5 points, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists per game.
For the season, he ranks third on the Owls in scoring at 13.0 points per game.
Westfield will be back in action with conference play on Wednesday, traveling to MCLA for a 7:00 p.m. game.
