Men's Golf Takes Second Place at Warrior Invitational

Westfield State senior Brandon Smith (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam) shot a 4-over par 74 to finish fourth individually to lead Westfield State’s men’s golf team to a second place finish at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Eastern Connecticut State at the Windham Golf Course in North Windham, Conn.

WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Westfield State senior Brandon Smith (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam) shot a 4-over par 74 to finish fourth individually to lead Westfield State's men's golf team to a second place finish at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Eastern Connecticut State at the Windham Golf Course in North Windham, Conn.

Eastern won the team title with a low score of 289, followed by Westfield at 315, and Rhode Island College at 336.

Seniors Michael Waldman (Billerica, Mass.) and Kyle DelSignore (Attleboro, Mass.) each shot 78 for the Owls to finish in a 3-way tie for seventh place.

Westfield will next be at home on Sept. 22, as the Owls host the Brett Williamson Invitational tournament at Tekoa Country Club.  14 teams are expected to participate.
