Rocco, Schnopp Post 77, Owls Tie for Second at Brett Williamson Invitational
Westfield blue finished in a tie for second with Lesley as Rocco and Schnopp both placed in a tie for fourth individually.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year Jackson Rocco (Dennis, Mass.) and senior Cameron Schnopp (Westfield, Mass.) both posted scores of 77 as Westfield State blue finished in a tie for second place at the 2025 Brett Williamson Invitational from Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Mass.
Rocco was the first player to tee up at the tournament, finishing two over par on the back nine for a 37. He played the front nine even through the first seven holes before shooting four over par on eight and nine to round up the match with six over par. Schnopp posted an identical score on both the front and back.
Both Owls tied for fourth individually along with MCLA's Cody White who played in the same group as Rocco for the day.
Five of ten Owls recorded sub-80 scores for the tournament with Alex Maggipinto (Westfield, Mass.) finishing with 78 followed by Will Gangi (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Nathan Copetas (Maynard, Mass.) who each shot 79.
Westfield blue totaled a team score of 316, tied for second place with Lesley University who had three players under 80: Vincent Spirito (78), Jeremy Ouellette (79), and Marc Bota (79). Westfield white finished in seventh place.
Nichols College generated the three lowest individual rounds of the day, leading to a 299 team score which won the match. Cameron DeSante and Nick White both checked in at two over par with DeSante registering an even par on the front nine (36) while White played one over par on the front and back. Brady Salah finished in outright third, carding a 75 for four over par.
Westfield State will continue a busy week of golf as the Owls will travel to the Keene State Invitational on Thursday at 10:00 A.M.
