Alumnus Moorhouse Named to Spengler Cup Coaching Staff
Will Coach in Switzerland Tournament in Late December
Westfield State University hockey and baseball alumnus Evan Moorhouse '16 has been named to the coaching staff for the United States Collegiate Selects team for the 97th Spengler Cup, an international hockey competition in Davos, Switzerland.
The U.S. Collegiate Select team is made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men's ice hockey. The competition runs from December 26-31, 2025 with the six participating teams. Along with the Selects, host HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will be taking part in the 2025 edition.
Moorhouse played four seasons of baseball and one season of hockey as a goaltender at Westfield State. He served as an assistant coach for the Owls hockey team before moving on to video, operations and coaching roles at the University of Vermont and Brown University, where he currently serves as an assistant coach and the director of operations for the Bears.
