Westfield State sophomore Daniel Shea (Longmeadow, Mass.) claimed second in the long jump as the Owls men’s track and field team opened the 2025 outdoor regular season schedule at the Wesleyan Swanson Invitational from Middletown, Conn. on Saturday afternoon.
Westfield State sophomore Ali Warsame won the long jump and triple jump events, highlighting a strong day of competition for the Owls at the Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier meet on Saturday afternoon and evening in Norton, Mass.
The Owls placed fourth among 14 scoring teams.
John Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.) came in first for the men’s 1000 meter run with a time of 2:40.38.
