Warsame, Lee Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Squads
Warsame was tabbed for the men’s long jump and triple jump events, while Lee was selected for the women’s triple jump.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State's Eliza Lee and Ali Warsame were named to the USTFCCCA Indoor Track and Field All-Region teams, the organization announced earlier this week
Warsame was tabbed for the men's long jump and triple jump events, while Lee was selected for the women's triple jump.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Warsame, a sophomore from Chelsea, Mass., had season bests of 6.93 meters in the long jump and 13.71 meters in the triple jump.
Lee, a junior from Walpole, Mass., had a best mark of 11.48 meters in the triple jump during the indoor season
Both are slated to be in action with the Owls outdoor teams when they begin season on March 22 at the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic meet at Wesleyan College in Middletown, Conn.
