Owls Results From Wheaton Post Season Qualifier
Daniel Shea soared to victory in the long jump with a mark of 6.62m
Westfield State junior Daniel Shea soared to victory in the long jump with a mark of 6.62m, leading the Owls' men's track and field teams efforts at the Post-Season Qualifer meet at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass on Saturday.
On the track, Jordan Stallworth was runner-up in the 200 meters with a personal best 23.01 andhe added a ninth place result in the 60m dash.
The 800 meters featured a strong Westfield contingent led by Lorcan Bergeron (4th, 2:02.54) and Reid Sunshine (6th, 2:04.02 – a PR).
In the 3,000 meters, Nathan Sylven (7th), Braedan Ramsey (8th), and Rodrigo Miranda (10th) each secured top-10 finishes, with Ramsey and Miranda both recording PRs.
The Owls also received field event points from Xavier Merkman, who placed third in the weight throw (14.38m). Devan Cerone cleared 1.82m for fourth in the high jump, and Micah Scott, who finished 10th in the shot put,
Qualifield Owls athletes will next compete at the New England D3 Championship meet next Saturday at the Track at New Balance in Boston.
