Men’s Track and Field Places Six on MASCAC All-Conference Team
Daniel Shea and Drew Organ won individual events to go along with a team victory in the 4x800 at the MASCAC Championships.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State junior Daniel Shea (Longmeadow, Mass.) and first-year Drew Organ (Suffield, Conn.) both won individual events as the Owls placed six athletes on the MASCAC All-Conference Team after competing in the MASCAC Outdoor Championship meet on Saturday.
Shea earned the top mark in the long jump, posting a winning mark of 6.71 meters (22-0.25).
Organ delivered the program's lone individual track victory, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:13.74 to secure 10 team points.
The Owls also grabbed a relay race victory as Reid Sunshine (Suffield, Conn.), Rowan Gottshall (Simsbury, Conn.), Colin Mahoney (Plainville, Mass.), and Lorcan Bergeron (Medway, Mass.) completed the 4x800 in a time of 8:17.46.
As a team, the Owls finished in fourth place at the outdoor title meet, registering 103 points.
Up next for men's track and field are the NCAA Division III New England Championships which will be held at Springfield College on Friday and Saturday with both days beginning at 10:00 A.M.
