Men's XC Competes at Keene
The Westfield state men's cross country team finished 13th among 26 competing teams at the Keene State Invitational meet on Saturday.
Nate Sylven was the first man in for the Owls in 42nd place and a time of 25:57, Andrew Organ was next in 93rd with a PR time of 27:11 on the 8,000 meter course at the Keene Athletic Complex.
The Owls finished 362 points as a team. Williams College won the meet with 31 points, edging Tufts which was second with 32. Tufts Jonah Reisner was the first individual in 24:12
The meet featured three teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation in Division III in the USTFCCCA polls this week - #1 Tufts, #3 Williams and #25 Amherst, along with regionally ranked Colby.
A total of 277 runners competed in the men's race.
The Owls were tuning up for their home meet, the 28th Annual James Earley Invitational, which they will host on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Stanley Park in Westfield. The men's race will start at 10:30 a.m.
