The Owls unloaded on offense for the second straight day, as the Owls have scored a combined 40 runs in their last three games.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Ella Malanson rapped out three hits and first-year pitchers Shayna Bakun and Cassidy Wallner combined on a 2-hit shutout as Westfield State blanked Lasell, 14-0 in Florida on Sunday morning.
The Owls unloaded on offense for the second straight day, as the Owls have scored a combined 40 runs in their last three games.
Westfield got back-to-back RBI triples from Allyssa Slack and Lily Dionne in the fourth inning, scoring six runs in the frame.
Eva Surrette's 2-rbi single in the fifth capped the scoring. Slack, Reagan Salvatore and CC Thayer each had a pair of hits.
Bakun started and worked 3 -1/3 innings to get the win, with Wallner working the final 1-2/3 innings. The duo struck out eight Lesley hitters.
Westfield State is now 7-0 on the season. The Owls return to action on Monday morning with a doubleheader against Geneva College and Lesley.
