Owls Softball to Host MASCAC Tournament
Westfield State University softball, ranked 10th in the NCAA NPI rankings and 21st in the NFCA poll, will host the final four of the MASCAC tournament this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Sullivan Field.

The Owls earned the top seed after finishing the regular-season with a 35-1 record and a 15-1 mark in the MASCAC.
Westfield will host #6 seed MCLA on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the first game of the double-elimination portion of the tournament. MCLA was a 6-3 winner over #3 seed Salem State in the opening round on Tuesday, knocking Salem out of the tourney and advancing the Trailblazers to Westfield. #2 seed Worcester State will host the other quarterfinal round game on Thursday in Worcester, facing #5 Bridgewater, a mild upset winner over #4 Framingham State on Tuesday, to knock the Rams out of the tournament.
Thursday's winners will advance in the winner's bracket to play at Westfield State on Friday at 11:00 a.m. The two losing teams from Thursday will play an elimination game at Westfield at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Friday's play wraps up with the loser of the 11:00 am game facing the loser of the 1:00 pm game in an elimination game that will start at 3:00 p.m.
Saturday's championship round begins at 12 noon at Sullivan Field.
