WSU Women's Hoop Picked Third in MASCAC Preseason Poll

When Westfield State's Women's basketball kicks off their season on Wednesday, November 8th at 5:30 pm against Keene State, the Owls will do so as the third-ranked team in the conference.

The Owls were voted to finish in third place in the MASCAC in the Women's Basketball Coaches Preseason Poll , behind Bridgewater State and Framingham State who were voted in first and second place.

The Owls were 18-10 overall and 9-3 during league play last year, and advanced to the conference championship game at Bridgewater State after defeating Framingham, 90-76 in the semifinal round.  The Owls fell to Bridgewater 64-59 in the championship game.

The Owls are returning senior forward Jordan Grant (Gray, ME) who led the Owls in scoring with 16 points per game, and rebounding with 6.4 per game. She grabbed two steals per game and shot 50.2 percent from the floor while playing in 24 of the Owls 28 games to earn her a spot on the All-Conference team.

Bridgewater received six out of the seven first place votes with Framingham State receiving one vote.
