WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State women's basketball first-year guard Sophia DeAngelis (Braintree, Mass.) earned recognition this past week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after her stat-sheet stuffing performance in the Owls win over Mount Holyoke on Tuesday.

DeAngelis did it all in Westfield's 106-48 win over Mount Holyoke as she logged seven points, three assists, two rebounds, and a steal.

The first-year guard has made an impact in her first five games of her collegiate career. Through those five games, she is averaging 4.8 points, two assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 16 minutes per game.

The Owls (3-2) look to carry this momentum over to their next matchup against Emmanuel College on Tuesday, November 28 for a 7:00 P.M. tipoff.
