Pond Tabbed for NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll
Pond earned her spot on the weekly honor roll by scoring an impressive 23 points against Elms College
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State women's basketball senior guard Maddie Pond (Holyoke, Mass.) has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) first-team weekly honor roll. This recognition is a result of her outstanding performance that contributed to the Owls' victory over Elms College 89-49, on November 26, 2024.
NEWBA honors D3 women's basketball players in New England who showcase outstanding performances. The association also awards high honors, including Player of the Year and selections for Regional All-Star Teams.
Pond earned her spot on the weekly honor roll by scoring an impressive 23 points against Elms College, leading both teams in points and making five three-pointers. In addition to Pond's dominant offensive skills, she executed a strong defensive effort, recording a career-high 11 steals during the game. She currently leads the MASCAC with a total of 34 steals this season.
The Owls will travel to Boston to compete against Emerson College on Thursday, 5th, 2024 at 7 PM.
