WESTFIELD, Mass. — Jordan Grant (Gray, Maine), the senior forward for the Westfield State women's basketball has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) first-team weekly honor roll. This honor is a result of her performance in the 79-72 MASCAC win over Framingham State in which Grant scored 21 points and brought down nine rebounds.
NEWBA honors D3 women's basketball players in New England who showcase outstanding performances. The association also awards high honors, including Player of the Year and selections for Regional All-Star Teams.
Grant has shined this season, as the four year starter has scored over 20 points four times this season, including opening the year with 31 points against Rivier. Grant is now up to averaging 16.3 points per game, which is third in all of the MASCAC. Grant is also shooting a very impressive 48.1 percent from the floor, which is second in all of the MASCAC as well.
In her time at Westfield, Grant has accumulated 1,280 points, just surpassed the 500 career rebounds total with a tally of 513, and has accrued 65 total locks in four years.
Grant has helped the Owls to climb to 2-0 in conference play and will look to improve that record as Westfield travels to Fitchburg State on Saturday, tip-off at 2:00 pm. You can follow along at WestfieldStateOwls.com for live stats and scoring updates.
