Bio
Shaquan Irving joined the Westfield State women’s basketball coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.
A Westfield State graduate, Irving most recently served as the head JV Boys coach at Westfield High School and as the lead assistant Nathan Martins for the varsity team. Irving led the Bombers to an 11-5 record, and more than doubled the program’s win total from the previous season.
He also serves as a head coach for the JD Basketball / Team Unity AAU program in Springfield since 2022, and got his start in coaching with Holyoke Basketball Suburban league program.
Irving serves as a court officer in the Springfield Trial Courts.
He notes that he is passionate about advancing women’s basketball by creating an environment where athletes can compete at the highest level while becoming confident, empowered individuals prepared for success in all areas of life.
Irving holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Westfield State University with minors in communication and history.
