Muratsuka Named MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week
Westfield State sophomore forward Kiana Muratsuka earned conference honors this past week by securing the MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State women's soccer team notched a pair of victories in both games this week behind the strong offensive output from sophomore forward Kiana Muratsuka (Mililani, Hawaii) as she earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Muratsuka made a significant impact in both games this week, totaling four goals and two assists. She had two goals and an assist in the Owls 3-1 road win versus Keene State, then posted an identical state line in a 5-0 victory at home against Massachusetts Maritime to open conference play.
On the season, Muratsuka has tallied five goals which ties the league lead with teammate Delaney Parker and is second in the MASCAC in points (12).
The Owls (3-3) now have their sights set on their next match at Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday, September 20 for a 6:00 P.M. start time.
