DeMember Tabbed as MASCAC Rookie of the Week
DeMember tallied a goal and an assist to move into the team lead in scoring and points for the year.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year midfielder Liv DeMember (West Boylston, Mass.) earned conference honors this past week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week.
DeMember tallied a goal and an assist in a 1-0-1 week for the Owls. She scored the first goal of the match in a 2-2 draw against UMass Boston on Wednesday before collecting an assist as part of the game-tying goal in a 1-1 tie against Framingham State over the weekend. DeMember has now received the league's Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season.
DeMember's three-point week vaults her into the team lead with three goals scored and eight points and has become an integral piece to the Owls success down the stretch, recording points in five of her last seven matches.
With the MASCAC postseason quickly approaching, Westfield State has three matches remaining in the regular season, two against league opponents. Before completing both MASCAC games, the Owls will have a stern test in the non-conference slate, hosting #15 Williams College tomorrow at 7:00 P.M. from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass.
