Ferri, Richter Sweep LEC Weekly Awards
Junior Kat Ferri received the LEC Swimmer of the Week and first-year Alexa Richter earned the Rookie Swimmer of the Week
Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State swimmers Kat Ferri (Springfield, Mass.) and Alexa Richter (Westfield, Mass.) each earned Little East Conference recognition this past weekend. Ferri received the LEC Swimmer of the Week, while Richter was nominated the Rookie Swimmer of the Week.
Ferri posted three individual even wins to help lead the Owls to a 155-91 win over Plymouth State on Saturday. She was victorious in the 200-yard IM (2:33.53), the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.52) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.38) events.
Richter won in three freestyle events to help distance the Owls over the Panthers. She finished first in the 100-yard (58.41), the 200-yard (2:09.33), and the 500-yard (5:41.87) freestyle events.
Westfield State will return to action on January 22nd as the Owls will host UMass Dartmouth on senior day from Ely Pool in Westfield, Mass.
