Banagan Named LEC Rookie Diver of the Week

Westfield State University’s Kara Banagan (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna High School) has earned the Little East Conference Rookie Diver of the Week honors.

Westfield, Mass.- Westfield State University's Kara Banagan (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna High School) has earned the Little East Conference Rookie Diver of the Week honors.

Banagan was the winner in both the 1- and 3-meter  diving, and helped the swimming and diving team top WestConn 173-78 and UMass Dartmouth 171-79 in their dual meet this week.

She scored a 185.80 diving off the one-meter board, and a 175.90 off her three-meter dives.

The Owls' Swimming and Diving Team now has a 6-2 record in dual meets this season.

Banagan will look to carry this momentum into the LEC Championships at Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, MA, February 20-22.
