Nine Owls Named to LEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
Nine Westfield State swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the 2024 LEC Spring Academic Honor Roll for their efforts in the classroom this past semester.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – All nine Westfield State swimming and diving student-athletes earned placement on the 2024 Little East Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for their efforts in the classroom this past semester.
In order to be eligible for recognition on the LEC academic honor roll, a student-athlete must have earned a semester grade point average of 3.00 or better and needed to be an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.
Headlining the group of Owls are all-conference swimmers Alexa Richter (Westfield, Mass.), Allyson Linkenhoker (Monson, Mass.), and Jackie Roccabruna (Pittsfield, Mass.).
Richter secured all-conference second team honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle followed by Linkenhoker who nabbed second team placement in the 200-meter backstroke. Roccabruna tallied the Owls third second-place finish at the LEC Championships in the 200-meter freestyle to also claim all-conference recognition.
The Owls swimming and diving team finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 3-3 record in dual meets and earned fifth place at the LEC Championships under first year head coach Matthew Nodell.
A total of 1,877 student-athletes competing in the conference's 21 championship sports were named to the academic honor roll.
