Westfield's Zeppa Wins Two Events at Union
The Owls fell to host Union, 179-81, and dropped a narrow decision to Roberts Wesleyan College by a 149-136 score.
WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State University's Isabella Zeppa (Monson, Mass.) won a pair of events to lead the Owls results in a double-dual swim meet at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. on Saturday.
Zeppa topped the field in the 50 freestyle in 25.98 seconds, and the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:05.74. Zeppa also swam a leg of the Owls 400 free relay team that placed second in 56.89 seconds.
Westfield's Autumn Sutherland (Cedar Hills, Utah/Lone Peak) took second in the 50 free just behind Zeppa in 26:05, and the Owls' Jackie Roccabruna (Pittsfield, Mass.) was second in the 200 free relay in 2:06.88.
That trio teamed with Emily Donatio to swim 3:56.32 in the 400 free relay.
