200 Free Relay Shines as Owls Drop Pair
Westfield State women's swimming and diving dropped a pair of meets on the weekned, falling to Smith College 184-94 on Friday, and Mount Holyoke College 166-114 on Saturday.
On Friday, the Owls topped won four of the 16 events. Isbella Zeppa clocked in in 25.69 to win the 50 freestyle, Emily Rogers was the first to touch the wall in the 200 IM in 2:40.6, Vivian Vanderpool was the lone comptetitor in the 200 fly in 3:02.87, and the quartet of Autumn Sutherland, Zeppa, Jackie Roccabruna and Emily Donatio was best in the 200 free relay in 1:45.57.
On Saturday, the Owls travaled to Mount Holyoke. Jackie Roccabruna bested the 200 freestyle in a season best 2:08.10, where Zeppa was second in 2:09.20.
Sutherland was first in the 50 free in 26.02. Zeppa won the 100 free and Rogers took the 200 backstroke.
Westfield's 200 free relay team again was tops, this time in 1:45.66. The Owls will take an extended break for Thanksgiving before wrapping up the semester at the Bridgewater State Invitational on Dec.6
