Felix Secures Consecutive MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. –Two weeks, two women's indoor track and field MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors for Westfield State first-year athlete Jailene Felix (Westfield, Mass.).
Felix's performance at the Coast Guard Invitational Meet this Saturday earned her rookie honors with a second-place finish in the women's 400-meter dash. Felix ran a time of 1:03.78, which was her personal best time, which also assisted the Owls finishing second in team points as well.
Felix has hit back-to-back personal bests as just last week she won the 400-meter dash with a record time of 1:04.31 at the Yankee Small College Invitational meet.
Felix and Westfield will be attending the MASCAC indoor championships on Sunday at Wheaton College with a start time of 3:30 P.M. as the women's track and field team look to defend their indoor title from a season ago.
