Lee, Coughlin Earn MASCAC Honors
The Owls duo shone in the long jump at this past weekend’s Coast Guard Academy Spring Invitational meet.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University senior Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) and first-year Bella Coughlin (Taunton, Mass.) have been recognized by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference as the league's women's track and field field athlete of the week and rookie of the week.
The Owls duo shone in the long jump at this past weekend's Coast Guard Academy Spring Invitational meet.
Lee won the long jump with a leap of 5.62 meters at the meet, and added a win in the triple jump at 11.46m, a mark that has her tied for 11th on the NCAA DIII performance list. She also placed fourth 400 hurdles 1:07.49.
Coughlin placed fourth in long jump at Coast Guard with a personal best mark of 5.22 meters, and ran a leg of the Owls 4x100 relay placed third in 49.80.
Westfield State will be in action at home at the Jerry Gravel Track on Saturday for the Gravel Invitational Meet.
