Poplawski, O'Sullivan Earn MASCAC Weekly Awards
Westfield State University women’s cross country runners Amy O’Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) and Grace Poplawski (Rowe, Mass./Mohawk) were named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference runner and rookie of the week for the week ending Sept. 26.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University women's cross country runners Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) and Grace Poplawski (Rowe, Mass./Mohawk) were named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference runner and rookie of the week for the week ending Sept. 26.
O'Sullivan finished second at the Saratoga (NY) Invitational meet with a time of 23:16 on the 6-kilometer course.
Poplawski was 43rd at the Saratoga Invitational in 27:43.4, helping the Owls to a fourth place finish as a team.
O'Sullivan will be back in action this weekend at the in Louisville, Ky., a preview meet contested over the same course as the NCAA Division III championship meet.
Poplawski and the rest of the Owls squad will be off this weekend as they prep for their home meet – the James Earley Invitational, which will be held Oct. 9 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
