Westfield State's O'Sullivan Named MASCAC Runner of the Week, Set for National Meet
Westfield State women’s cross country senior Amy O’Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) has claimed yet another Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference runner of the week award, by virtue of her eighth place finish this past weekend at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State women's cross country senior Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) has claimed yet another Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference runner of the week award, by virtue of her eighth place finish this past weekend at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships.
O'Sullivan earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship race with the performance. She tripped the 6,000-meter course at Harkness State Park in Connecticut in 22:23.6.
She has been named the league's runner of the week each week she has competed this season, eight times overall.
O'Sullivan will travel to the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship Meet, competing on Nov. 20 at E.P. Tom Saywer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
She ran in the pre-national meet on that course on October 2, finishing eighth overall in a time of 22:24.3 on the six-kilometer course.
The top 40 finishers at the NCAA meet will earn All-America honors from the USTFCCCA.
