Owls Hockey to Skate at DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday
Westfield and Worcester State will face of at 3:20 p.m. for their MASCAC Conference game, and your game ticket is also good for admission to that evenings Worcester Railers vs. Idaho Steelheads East Coast Hockey League game at 7:05 p.m. that evening.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State hockey will take to the ice at the DCU Center in Worcester for a special game as the Owls skate against Worcester State as a prelude to the Worcester Railers game that evening.
Westfield and Worcester State will face of at 3:20 p.m. for their MASCAC Conference game, and your game ticket is also good for admission to that evenings Worcester Railers vs. Idaho Steelheads East Coast Hockey League game at 7:05 p.m. that evening.

Spectator Arrival Please arrive through door 5 located on Major Taylor Blvd across from the St. Vincents Hospital Emergency Room Entrance. All tickets will be scanned before going up in the elevator, please have your digital ticket ready. If you have yet to purchase a ticket, the link will be active until 7:05pm that night.
Please note – ALL spectators entering the building are required by DCU Center policy to have a ticket.
Can I bring in a bag? The DCU Center has a very strict no bag policy. Only hockey bags, (which must stay downstairs) bags sized 8X10, and medical bags are allowed on the concourse.
Game Preview:
On the ice, it will be a key early season matchup between the Owls and the Lancers. Westfield enters the game with a 2-3 mark in conference play, with Worcester sitting a game ahead of the Owls at 3-2.
Westfield enters the game with a modest 2-game winning streak, coming off a pair of one-goal wins over UMass-Dartmouth and Rivier.
The Owls are led by the scoring of first-year Cooper Board (5-2-7) who netted the game winner in OT, and senior Justin Collins (2-5-7). Junior goaltender Valtteri Valtonen has been clutch in goal for the Owls, where he has been making an average of 38 saves per game with a 2.86 GAA.
Worcester is led by senior forward Brendan Ronan, who has five goals and six assists for 11 points. The Lancers have rotated three goalies in net, where the team is giving up an average of five goals per game.
The Railers play in the East Coast Hockey league, essentially the AA level of professional hockey, just below the NHL and the AHL. Westfield State alumnus Jackson Leef '17 plays for the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.
