Westfield State men’s cross country reined in awards, as first-year Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Year along with an All-Conference recognition on Thursday, as the league formally announced it’s all conference award winners from the championship meet held last Friday in Devens, Mass.
Westfield State first-year Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip HS) won the individual title to lead the Owls men’s cross country team to the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference title at Devens, Mass. on Friday afternoon.
The races were conducted a day late to take advantage of better weather as Hurricane Lee slid past New England off shore on Saturday.
Westfield State freshman Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip) was the individual winner as the Owls ran to a third-place team finish at the season-opening Keene State Alumni Invitational in Keene, N.H. on Saturday.
