Men's Cross Country Takes Third at Trinity Invitational
First-year student Nathan Sylven (Wrenthham, Mass./King Phillip) was the lead Owl on Saturday, placing 10th in the individual results and leading Westfield State to a third place team finish at the Trinity Invitational meet Saturday morning at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
WESTFIELD, Mass. --First-year student Nathan Sylven (Wrenthham, Mass./King Phillip) was the lead Owl on Saturday, placing 10th in the individual results and leading Westfield State to a third place team finish at the Trinity Invitational meet Saturday morning at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
Sylven rambled the 5,000 meter course in a time of 17:25.20 seconds.
Trinity College's Tobias L'Esperance Kerckhof was the individual winner in 16:21.80, as runners from Trinity and Union filled out the first nine placings.
Will Buckley (Plymouth, Mass./North) was next for the Owls in 14th place in 17:46, followed by John Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.) in 17th in 17:55.
A total of seven teams and 80-student athletes competed in the race.
Westfield will next compete at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, next Saturday, Sept. 16.
