Prattson Sets Career Assist Record as Owls Fleece Fitchburg, 19-7

 WESTFIELD, Mass.    –  Westfield State rattled off five straight goals in the first quarter to take command of the game, and senior Emma Prattson (Tolland, Conn.) handed out five assists to become the program's all-time leader in that category as the Owls downed Fitchburg State, 19-7, in a MASCAC women's lacrosse game at Elliot Field in Fitchburg on Friday night.

Westfield improves to 3-1 in the league and 5-10 on the season, while the Falcons are now 2-12 overall and 1-3 in the league.

Prattson led the Owls scoring attack with three goals and five assists, giving her 118 in her career, one more than previous record-holder Stephanie Lenhardt '15.

Two of Prattson's assists fed Natalie DeMaio (Westwood, Mass.), who tallied a game-high seven goals.

Kylie Buchanan (Westfield, Mass.) added three goals for the Owls, with Samantha Dyer (Dover, N.H.) adding two goals and an assist.

Westfield trailed 2-1 early in the first quarter before tallying the game's next five goals, and the Owls steadily pulled away for the big win.

Izzy Conley (North Salem, N.Y.) was credited with the win in goal, making five saves in 30 minutes.  Kara Banagan (Niskayuna, N.Y.) added three saves.

The Falcons were led by three goals from Jessica St. George.  Elizabeth Smith made 12 saves.

Westfield will be back in action on Tuesday night, hosting Salem State at 7:00 p.m., in a game that was rescheduled due to surprise snowstorm last week.   The game will be the Owls' senior day with pregame recognition for the senior class.
