Lee Tops Two Events, Sets Qualifying Time

WESTFIELD., Mass. – Westfield State University senior Eliza Lee won a pair of events to highlight the Owls performances at the Massassoit Classic at Springfield College on Saturday.
Lee placed first in the triple jump with a top mark of 11.44 meters and finished first in the long jump with a best leap of 5.57 meters. Both improved her qualifying marks for the All New England meet later this winter, and her long jump has her placed 19th on the national indoor list, and her triple jump mark is 11th on the national performance list. She also ran 8.19 seconds in placing seventh in the 60 meter dash, meeting a provisional mark for the NED3 meet.

Emily Ottomaniello finished third in pole vault 2.68 meters and in the women's 3000 Tealei Chandonnet finished fifth in 11:22.
Overall the Owls set 10 indoor personal bests and 7 overall personal best marks at the meet. No team scoring was posted for the meet.
Westfield is next scheduled to have athletes compete at the Harvard Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 31.
