Cummins Earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
Westfield State women’s volleyball had one player on the MASCAC Player of the Week board and that was once again first-year Sydney Cummins (Nicholasville, TN.).
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Westfield State women's volleyball had one player on the MASCAC Player of the Week board and that was once again freshman Sydney Cummins (Nicholasville, TN.).
Cummins has now earned her second Rookie of the Week award this season. The freshman out of Tennessee posted 29 kills, 21 digs, and five aces in her third week of college volleyball. Cummins has been on the floor for the Owls for every set this season as she has totaled the third highest kills (64) in the MASCAC, along with the fourth highest kills per set (2.37).
Cummins accrued a total of nine kills and digs in a 3-0 win at home win over St.Joesph's (Conn.) and put up 14 kills and 10 digs in a loss to Roger Williams.
Cummins leads the team in all attack stats and currently is one of three players to have played every set for Westfield this fall.
Cummins and the Owls look forward to their next match on Saturday, September 21 at Bay Path at 3 p.m.
