At number nine, the official return of collegiate sports for the spring season!
On March, 12, 2021, Westfield State athletics announced their return to play for the spring 2021 season. After 375 days of waiting and wondering when or if there would be games, the first events of the spring sports season kicked-off as baseball and softball took the diamond and recorded a pair of sweeps.
Baseball would hit the ground running, including an eight game winning streak in which head coach Nathan Bashaw secured career win number 200. The Owls racked up 18 wins in the pandemic-altering season. At the conclusion of the season, Owls seniors' Nick Martin and Shane Bogli starred in their summer seasons. Martin showcased his skills in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League while Bogli dominated the Israel Olympic Team at Dunkin Donuts Park.
In the softball season, Junior Farrah Adam was named the MASCAC Player of the Year, while Alyssa "Louie" Clark received the Rookie of the Year.
Clark and Sarah Meunier slugged their way through the softball season as the two combined for nine home runs, including a two-home run game from Clark to assist in her conference-leading five home run season.
