WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University student-athletes raised over $1200 from their teams and classmates to deliver Christmas gifts to families in need within the Westfield school district.
Westfield State athletic administrators delivered the gifts to seven different elementary schools across Westfield on Thursday morning, helping 32 children and households to support the upcoming Holiday season.
The Owls Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) was responsible for leading the fundraising efforts, as this is now the 19th time and fourth consecutive year since the pandemic in which Westfield State Athletics have supported the "Secret Santa" program.
Westfield State student-athletes have continually combined athletic success on the field with community engagement off the field as the "Secret Santa" program comes after the fall season in which the Owls lead the Smith Cup standings as the top athletic program in the MASCAC.
