Over 150 Owls Student-Athletes Named to EAST-COMM Academic Honor Roll
Recognizing student-athletes with a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average in at least their sophomore season of eligibility.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Over 150 Westfield State student-athletes were named to the first ever Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Honor Roll, recognizing student-athletes for their hard work both academically and athletically.
In order to qualify for EAST-COMM academic honors, student-athletes needed a 3.4 or above cumulative grade point average while holding at least sophomore eligibility. 43 different sports were represented across all three teams which were divided into fall, winter, and spring academic honor roll.
Westfield State totaled 173 student-athletes across all three teams with various students earning multiple honors due to their dual sport eligibility. The Owls had 56 student-athletes across seven different sports on the fall academic team, 53 student-athletes in six winter sports, and 64 student-athletes in seven spring sports.
A total of 6,697 student-athletes from EAST-COMM member schools between the fall, winter, and spring academic honor rolls from 34 different institutions were recognized.
