158 Owls Student-Athletes Named to MASCAC Winter/Spring All-Academic
Westfield finished with 16 percent of the total numbers of student-athletes on the all-academic team.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – A total of 158 Westfield State student-athletes were named to the MASCAC winter/spring 2026 all-academic team as released earlier today by conference Commissioner Angela Baumann.
1,015 student-athletes across league members and affiliates were honored. Student-athletes who compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the MASCAC institutions during the Winter and Spring 2026 athletic season and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Winter/Spring All-Academic.
On the Winter/Spring 2026 MASCAC All-Academic, Worcester State University finished with 17 percent of the total numbers of student-athletes while Westfield State University was second with 16. Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University and Framingham State University all at 12 percent then Salem State University landed at 10 percent while Massachusetts Maritime was at seven percent and MCLA at six. Due to the school's closure, the academic records for Anna Maria were not available for submission to this team at the time of publication. If the MASCAC can obtain them, their honorees will be added.

Balancing the demands of academics and collegiate athletics requires exceptional dedication, discipline, and perseverance. I am incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the outstanding example they set for our conference and their institutions."
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as a football affiliate member in 2013. Springfield College joined as men's golf affiliates in 2019 while Marymount University and Marywood University joined in 2024. Anna Maria became our ninth core member in 2025. Vermont State University-Castleton will join as a core member in 2027.
